Why is the US Flag on the DOMINION Dive Watch Backwards?
One question we get a lot is, "Why is the flag on the Dominion Dive Watch backwards?"
Great question. I'll tell you.
According to U.S. Army Regulation 670-1, the American flag patch is worn on the right shoulder pocket flap of utility uniforms, with the star field (canton) facing forward—to the observer's right—to signify the flag is flying in the breeze as the wearer moves forward.
The standard way the flag is displayed is with the blue star field (canton) on the left, but this looks weird, or could possibly signal the wrong thing when placed on the right shoulder. The US military is the greatest military in the world. Our troops move forward into battle. It might seem like a small, insignificant detail, but every detail matters. In every way, the signal should be clear.
The Dominion Dive Watch is a watch built for warriors. We wanted to make that clear with the backwards flag right on the dial.
