Why Automatic Watches Are Still Relevant Today
In a world where digital timekeeping devices are ubiquitous and many people rely on their smartphones to tell time, some may wonder why anyone would choose to wear an automatic watch. However, the appeal of mechanical timepieces like the Wasson Automatic Field Watch is as strong as ever, and there are many benefits to owning one.
First and foremost, there is a certain romance to owning a mechanical watch. The intricate gears and springs that power the watch are fascinating to watch in action, and the fact that the watch is powered by the motion of the wearer's wrist adds a personal connection to the timepiece. There is something satisfying about knowing that the watch is keeping time thanks to the energy you are providing.
In addition to their mechanical appeal, automatic watches also offer a level of craftsmanship and attention to detail that is unmatched by many other timekeeping devices. A well-made mechanical watch can last for generations if properly cared for, and the fact that each watch is assembled by hand by skilled artisans adds to their appeal.
Another benefit of owning an automatic watch is the lack of reliance on batteries or external power sources. Unlike quartz watches that rely on a battery, automatic watches are self-winding and do not require any external power source. This makes them particularly useful in situations where access to power may be limited, such as during outdoor activities or when traveling to remote locations (such as an overseas deployment).
Finally, there is a sense of tradition and heritage that comes with owning an automatic watch. These timepieces have been around for centuries, and the craftsmanship and attention to detail that goes into each watch is a testament to the art of watchmaking. Owning an automatic watch like the Wasson Automatic Field Watch is a way to connect with that history and tradition.
In conclusion, while digital devices may be convenient and ubiquitous, there is still something special about owning a mechanical watch like the Wasson Automatic Field Watch. From the intricate inner workings to the personal connection with the wearer, there are many reasons why automatic watches remain relevant and desirable today.

Excellent article! I see automatic watches as similar to still using a paper Bible. Although electronic ones are ubiquitous and are often easy to access, there is something about using a paper Bible where you have a better layout of the text and can see patterns in a clearer way. I am still enjoying my Wasson automatic field watchand it was definitely a great purchase. Thank you guys again!
